01 / Project overview

A catalog with
more work to do.

The project involved rebuilding the website of an industrial manufacturer with a large product offering and requirements beyond a typical corporate website.

The website needed to help visitors understand products, evaluate options, and determine where they could purchase them.

The supplied designs established the visual direction, but our role went beyond implementing page layouts. Product information, custom tools, dealer discovery, responsive content, and ongoing internal updates all needed to work as one system.

The WordPress backend also had to remain practical for the team maintaining a growing catalog after launch.

02 / The challenge

Information is not
the same as clarity.

Large industrial catalogs can contain plenty of data and still make choosing a product unnecessarily difficult.

The challenge was to preserve the supplied visual direction while making a technically oriented product catalog easier to explore across devices.

01Browse distinct product categories 02Understand meaningful differences 03Compare relevant product options 04Find nearby dealers or distributors 05Access dense information on mobile 06Maintain a large site after launch

03 / Development approach

More than a
design conversion.

The implementation needed to account for how products, tools, and reusable content would actually work inside WordPress.

Rather than building isolated pages, we focused on reusable structures and templates. Custom functionality was introduced where WordPress and WooCommerce alone could not support the product-discovery experience.

The frontend stayed useful for customers without making the backend unnecessarily difficult for the team.

04 / WordPress implementation

One platform.
Multiple jobs.

The site had to support marketing content and a functional product experience without making either feel disconnected.

Custom WordPress development

Structured for the catalog.

01Responsive frontend implementation

02WordPress theme customization

03Reusable page structures

04WooCommerce integration

05Product-oriented layouts

Product architecture

Catalog logic over generic commerce.

WooCommerce supported the underlying product structure while the broader website remained focused on research and discovery.

Content management

Reusable where repetition mattered.

Templates and repeatable structures reduced inconsistency as products and company content changed.

05 / Product comparison

Turn specifications into
a decision tool.

Product differences mattered more than visual presentation alone.

The custom comparison calculator let visitors evaluate relevant options without moving between multiple product pages and trying to remember specifications.

Custom functionality Built beyond standard theme settings and page-builder components.

06 / Discovery & purchasing

Research online.
Purchase nearby.

01

Dealer & store locator

Visitors could search nearby locations instead of working through a static distributor list.

02

Responsive product experiences

Navigation, catalog layouts, filters, and interactive tools were refined instead of merely compressed for mobile.

03

Connected customer journey

The platform linked product research, comparison, and offline purchasing without treating them as separate experiences.

Publishing systemReusable content systems extended beyond the product catalog.

07 / Maintainability after launch

Built to change
without rebuilding.

A custom website is only useful if future updates do not require reconstructing the implementation every time the catalog changes.

Reusable structures were separated from page-specific content wherever practical. That made the site easier to extend and helped prevent small inconsistencies from multiplying across a large catalog.

Maintainability was considered alongside frontend implementation—not after it.

08 / What this demonstrates

Beyond a brochure.
Built around use.

01

WordPress beyond brochure websites

Content, commerce, comparison, and location discovery came together in one implementation.

02

Custom functionality

The comparison tool required development beyond standard theme components.

03

Product discovery

The structure helped visitors understand products and determine where to purchase them.

04

Design-to-development execution

Supplied designs became a responsive production system, including behavior static files could not define.

05

Maintainability

Reusable structures and editor control supported continued change after launch.
